What is ING?
ING Account is an online savings account. Currently, they offer a 3.3% APR, which is like 3rd highest in the country. However, the bonus for picking the 3rd highest (as opposed to the highest %) is that there are no minimums, no fees, AND you get a $25 bonus for opening an account (I also get $10 for referring you) so everyone wins =)
It works as a complement to your checking account. In other words, you'll provide ING with checking account & routing number information, and then you can electronically transfer funds to/from savings/checking. The coolest scenario is that you can open an account with $1, get your $25, and then close the account 30 days later (if you want). However, I think that with such a high rate, you'd be inclined to leave the money there for a bit...
Let me know if you have any other questions...

RE: NRLB Redefines 'Your Own Time'
Check this out...
Doc Ruby writes "The U.S. National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has ruled to ban off-duty worker 'fraternization,' at the employer's discretion. So getting together for a beer after work can now be prohibited by the boss. With IT workers so commonly producing some of our best work 'after hours,' even at home or in restaurants/bars, will this ruling come back to bite employers in the IT industry? Can they really stop you from talking with your cubicle neighbor on the bus home, if they can't even stop you from reading Slashdot while on the clock?"
[Via Slashdot: ]
so no more after work happy hours if the boss doesn't like everyone dragging in the next morning? =(

Wow, who still says that kind of crap in the workplace? WOW!
On a side note, Motek Designs(c) and I repaired my amp yesterday, installed new sound deadening material on my front door panels, and then repositioned the EQ settings on my amp/deck...RESULT: new audio quality that i never thought possible out of any car i ever owned...

anyway, now i'm writing thru w.bloggar, which i can use to post to macro.jim without having to browse to Blogger.com. pretty cool tool actually, you ought to try it ez..
in other news, I'm going to Los Angeles from probably Aug 22 - 26. Anybody out in Cali, let me know...

1 Yr BDay...
I just realized that today is my 1 yr anniversary with Air Liquide. Happy 1st! So I could talk about how so much has gone on in the last year, and blah blah blah, but I'll leave all that 'emo'ing to my little bro...
Of other concern is the fact that at this point, I should have been paid ~50k by AL...so where the hell is it? =/...need to get better w/ the finances if I'm going to retire between 30 and 35. Speaking of that, I saw a cool website a way to make some cash if you're feeling a little risky...you basically do a 0% balance transfer on a bunch of money, stick it in a good savings/interest bearing account, and then pay it back, but come out like 300-400 bucks over the course of the year. not bad if you can take a small credit score hit for the year.
anyway, one last plug for the day...help Elise become a popular journalist =)...vote on the hottest US Senator
